In the animated film “Turning Red” by Pixar, Tyler Nguyen-Baker is a secondary character who plays an important role in the story. Tyler is a classmate of the main heroine, Meilin “Mei” Lee. At the beginning of the film, Tyler is portrayed as a popular and somewhat arrogant boy who enjoys teasing and bothering Mei and her friends.

However, as the story progresses, he becomes more likable and eventually grows closer to Mei’s group. One turning point for Tyler’s character is when he reveals his interest in the same boy band as Mei and her friends, which helps them find common ground and become friends.
